What do you get as a member of the Sidney Business Improvement Association? Resources, perks, and community are just a few of the benefits of membership. Read on for more information!
The Sidney Business Improvement Area Society (Sidney BIA) Bylaws allow for membership based on your status as an “Owner” or “Tenant”, or as an “Associate Member”. An individual is eligible to activate a voting membership in the SBIA if he or she is an owner, or a representative of a company, that owns taxable Class 6 commercial property “Owner” OR if he or she is an owner, or a representative of a tenant business that has a valid business license and is conducting business “Tenant”, within the Sidney Business Improvement Area.
An individual or a company that owns multiple properties, or owns multiple businesses, or owns a property and a business, or a company with multiple owners, may, as a member, have only one vote as a member. Owner and Tenant voting members do not pay a membership fee.
The Sidney BIA’s Bylaws provide for non-voting Associate Membership if you are not an “Owner” or a “Tenant” in the Business Improvement Area, but you are a person (or company/organization) with a demonstrable interest in the Sidney Business Improvement Area.
If you are unsure if you are an “Owner”, “Tenant” or “Associate Member”, please contact us at [email protected].
Businesses that fall outside of our catchment, or people whose companies do not contribute to our levy (such as individuals or businesses working in shared office spaces*, food trucks, street vendors or buskers).
