It’s here! The ever-popular LEGO exhibition has returned to Sidney Museum, featuring a wider range of themes including Star Wars, Minecraft, Friends, Harry Potter, Batman and vintage sets! Bring the whole family to spend the day in lovely Sidney, take in the Museum, grab a bite, walk along to the sea wall, visit the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea and stop in a Buddies Toys for a new Lego purchase.
Our guests will learn about the history of the many Lego models on display, a special opportunity to guess how many bricks comprise the giant Lego Tower. Challenge yourself with a scavenger hunt with three levels of difficulty for all ages.
Lego, derived from the Danish leg godt (play well) began in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen (1891 – 1958) who began his career as a maker of wooden toys. With the introduction of the Automatic Binding Bricks in 1949, and the modern brick design in 1958, Lego began a toy revolution which culminated in Lego becoming beloved by generations, and standing the test of time.
The Sidney Museum is located at 2423 Beacon Avenue and 4th Street, in the lower level of the Old Post Office, in historic Sidney-by-the Sea, British Columbia. The museum hours of operation are Daily, January 2nd through March 31st 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Admission is free, donations are greatly appreciated.
