      The Fickle Fig Farm Market is looking for experienced, professional and dedicated team players with outstanding kitchen skills to join our expanding team.

      As a member of the kitchen team with a passion for quality, local and seasonal food you will work under the kitchen manager. You will be responsible for ensuring the preparation, cooking, taste and presentation are consistent and of the highest standard.

      This is a unique kitchen where the you will decide the menu each day using the freshest ingredients from our 18 acres of farmland around the Saanich peninsula. You will prepare the light savory foods from scratch each day including sandwiches, pizzas, soups, pastas and salads as well as the sauces and stocks used within the dishes.

      Skills and experience required:

      -At least 2 years of experience working in a commercial kitchen.

      -Use creativity and ingenuity to create a seasonal, dynamic menu, highlighting our own produce.

      -Positive personality with the ability to work under pressure.

      -Efficient work ethic.

      -High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

      -Be able to work independently.

      -Be willing and eager to learn.

      -Be a problem solver.

      Successful candidates must complete a paid probationary period of three months.

      As an experienced baker with enthusiasm and a passion for quality food you will work under a red seal pastry chef and will be responsible for ensuring preparation, cooking, taste and presentation are consistently of a high standard.

      -At least 1 year of baking experience.

      -Efficient working ethic.

      - High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

      The Fickle Fig Farm Market is looking for professional and dedicated team players with outstanding customer service skills to join our expanding team.

      This is a unique local business where customers are treated to a farm to table experience with the freshest ingredients from our 18 acres of farmland around the Saanich peninsula.

      As a member of the front of house team with a passion for everything local you will work under the market and bistro manager. You will be responsible for providing prompt, friendly, customer service in our fast-paced market, bistro and bakery. The perfect candidate will show initiative, be eager to learn about the business and want to help it grow.

      Responsibilities include - Serving customers, preparing drinks, delivering food, washing dishes, daily cleaning tasks and stocking produce.

      Skills and experience required:

      -Previous experience with barista duties an asset but will train the right person.

      -Be reliable and have excellent interpersonal skills with co-workers and customers.

      -Be passionate and knowledgeable about the produce we grow and sell.

      -Have a positive personality with the ability to work under pressure.

      -Previous experience with Point of Sale System an asset.

      -Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

      -Must be able to anticipate customer and team needs and show initiative

      -Be able to work independently.

      -Have an efficient work ethic.

      -Be willing and eager to learn.

      -Be able to manage cash and balance daily deposits.

      -Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

      -Be a problem solver and use their initiative.
