    • Job Description:

      The Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa is looking for a full-time experienced Room Attendant who is has an eye for detail and can provide exemplary guest service. Applicants should have minimum of 1 year cleaning experience, preferably in a similar role.

      • Cleaning of guest rooms and guest floors of the hotel with the highest standards and attention to detail, including but not limited to: making beds, changing sheets, dusting, vacuuming carpeting and area rugs, cleaning draperies and upholstered furniture, cleaning and disinfecting kitchens and bathrooms, and cleaning and polishing floors
      • Cleaning of designated hotel facilities (i.e. spa, restaurants, kitchen) and areas within the hotel with the highest standards and attention to detail
      • Running laundry and towels between laundry and guest rooms
      • Ensuring guest rooms and storage areas are stocked with all supplies and amenities
      • Attending to all guest requests in a timely and courteous manner

      • Minimum one year experience housekeeping / janitorial experience
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Strong communication and organization skills
      • Must be in good physical condition and able to complete 8 hour shift that includes frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 35 lbs
      • Must be available for a variety of shifts including weekends

  • Accounting Manager

      Reporting to the VP Finance, the Accounting Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely provision of monthly financial statements and management reports; the development and analyses of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts; the reporting of key performance metrics; and the completion of ad hoc analysis projects that arise from time to time. The Accounting Manager will have contact with the Hotel General Manager, VP-Finance, hotel management team and other staff, which requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both written & verbal. This is a stand-alone position in the hotel environment, but will involve working on occasion and as required, with the parent company Accounting Team.

      • To produce accurate and timely financial statements monthly, quarterly and at year end
      • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all subledger transactions, including AP, AR, and Bank Rec.
      • Develop and maintain internal controls documentation, processes, practices and procedures
      • To assist in the preparation of the Hotel’s business plan, budget and reforecasting activities
      • With GM, analyze performance versus budget and investigate variances as required
      • To monitor operational expenditures in conjunction with approved budgets
      • Support General Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements
      • Collaborate with the operational managers to support overall department goals and objectives while delivering a high level of internal customer service
      • Develop and maintain performance analysis tools for divisions within hotel
      • Provide training and mentorship to new and existing staff as needed
      • To reconcile and monitor monthly aged accounts payable and receivable listings
      • To manage month-end accounting processes including account reconciliations, inventories, accruals and balance sheet analysis
      • To ensure the accuracy of daily night audit transactions
      • Work with the VP-Finance to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
      • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks
      • Must be willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote teamwork
      • Must have a commitment to follow all policies and procedures as they relate to the position
      • Must be a self-motivating team player and have a high degree of analytical ability and confidentiality
      • Other duties as assigned

      • A professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is required
      • Relevant accounting experience in the hospitality industry an asset
      • Multi-unit experience in either the hotel or restaurant industries an asset
      • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
      • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Intermediate level Excel and basic level of other Office programs
      • Familiarity with Adagio accounting software an asset
