    • Job Description: Titan Boats, a leading manufacturer of rigid hull inflatable boats located in Sidney, BC, is looking to enhance our team of skilled trades. We are known for our tough, durable, and quality-engineered boats which are used for patrol, enforcement, and interdiction. Our Marine Painter prepares and paints a wide variety of vessels and other products. They complete paint jobs on budget, on time, and per Titan’s reputation for performance and exceptional quality. Qualifications - 2-5 years of painting experience, preferably in the marine industry - Experience working in a physically demanding environment; confined spaces, working at heights, and use of safety equipment - Ability to apply coatings using brushes, rollers, and/or spray applicators while maintaining desired MIL thickness - Ability to use power tools, hand tools and chemicals for cleaning surfaces prior to coating - Knowledge of marine or industrial coatings and their proper application - Knowledge of various types and uses of paints and preparation procedures - Knowledge of WHIMIS and MSDS - Strong organizational skills - Strong oral and written communication skills in English Key Duties - Interpreting work orders, paint schedules and general instructions - Calculating surface areas and estimating amount of material required - Cleaning and prepping surfaces; including sanding and buffing - Checking over hulls for scratches and/or defects - Masking and taping areas not requiring painting - Selecting and applying a wide variety of marine coating applications (paint, textured coatings, and clear coats) to parts, equipment and interior/exterior of vessels
