ArtSea Community Arts Council (ArtSea) supports and promotes the development of all forms of the arts and cultural activities on the Saanich Peninsula. Forms of artistic expression includes visual arts, photography, dance, music, literature, and theatre.
Through a committee structure, ArtSea organizes festivals, art shows and sales, studio tours and provides funding, in the form of grants, to member groups. Major sponsored events includes:
• Sidney Fine Arts Show
• ArtSea Studio Tour
• Small Expressions
• Salish Lantern Festival
• Taste of Tulista
• Plus a host of community events throughout the year
ArtSea offers rental space to members at the ArtSea Gallery in Tulista Park, along the waterfront in Sidney. The space is suitable for classes, workshops, exhibitions, displays, artistic residencies and shows with sales.
ArtSea provides a collective voice for the arts community. Provincial and municipal funding is augmented by our own fundraising initiatives.
Joining ArtSea is important to all art and culture lovers. A strong membership facilitates high quality and diverse artistic programming and events. And it lets the British Columbia Government know that supporting the ‘Arts’ is important for the health of a well-balanced community.
