Meeting Planners

Sidney is a meeting planners dream. It offers multiple options for meetings and conferences of almost any size. Located next to the beautiful Salish Sea, Sidney venues have been shown to increase attendance, inspire participants and make event planners look like super stars.

Located only a five-minute drive from the Victoria International Airport, the BC and Washington State Ferry terminals, Sidney is the gateway and transportation hub of Vancouver Island! Delegates will save time and money on travel and hotel costs as they can be at Sidney’s doorstep within a few minutes after leaving the airport or ferry terminal. Sidney is an ideal place for work and play!

The Mary Winspear Centre is the event and conference anchor in Sidney with over 30,000 square feet of modern and flexible meeting space. The centre features a large exhibition hall (8100 sq. ft., seats 900), complete with an 18 ft. vaulted ceiling, performance stage, drop screen, lighting and sound system and a large commercial kitchen. The 310 seat Charlie White Theatre is an impressive space that is perfect for presentations and can also be used for a fun group movie night. The Mary Winspear Centre offers many additional breakout rooms, including a board room, modern gallery space (perfect for receptions and registration) and four breakout rooms all with natural light and stunning local First Nations artwork.

Sidney’s Unique Venues
For a unique experience, delegates can enjoy a tour and tasting at the newly opened Victoria Distillers, BC’s only waterfront distillery. Delegates can enjoy an elegant cocktail reception, while looking out over Mount Baker and the Southern Gulf Islands.

Dive in and host your next event under the sea! The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea offers another truly remarkable venue for meetings and events. Brings your delegates face-to-face with octopus, jellies and many other creatures. Whether you’re planning a small meeting, reception (up to 200) or sit down meal, the aquarium and its exhibits create a backdrop that delegates will never forget.

Along with unique venues for your meetings Sidney offers an abundance of options for pre- and post-activities including: whale watching, kayaking, sky diving, fishing, crabbing, bowling and wine tours. In addition Sidney offers an independent movie theatre, a five-pin bowling alley and other fun activities.

Sidney may be small in size, but that’s part of its charm! Delegates can stretch their legs; enjoy the sights and the first-rate shopping district.
