Bob Whyte, Director
Property Owner

Born in Victoria in 1943, Bob made his first foray into the marine business in Sidney with his father, Charlie Whyte, in 1964. By 1975, Bob had left that partnership and invested in his own marine business: Bob Whyte Marine Ltd. He was an active hands-on manager and it obviously worked. During his 6 1/2 years in the business he paid off all his loans, bought his Dad’s ‘Marina and Ship’s Chandlery’, and turned a handsome profit. It is noteworthy that his marine business grew while others at that time were closing down. Bob attributes this not to gimmicks, but to good old-fashioned hard work and common sense, and a dedication to service. At age 38 he retired but eventually got into the development business creating and building Commercial, Industrial and Residential projects in Sidney and up-Island.
