Sidney BIA - Sidney Business Improvement Area Society

Sidney BIA

The Sidney Business Improvement Area Society is a non-profit, membership organization that markets and promotes Sidney to attract more footsteps and promote economic growth to the town. Members include all businesses in the BIA district, which falls between the waterfront and the Pat Bay Highway. The Sidney BIA works closely with members, community partners and the Town of Sidney to market Sidney as a vibrant, interesting and friendly destination. In addition, the Sidney BIA supports members by negotiating a number of leveraged marketing opportunities, offering free or low cost professional development workshops and providing networking opportunities throughout the year.

Are you are a business or property owner located in the BIA district?  If so you are already a vital member of the Sidney BIA, but to take advantage of the resources available to you, you must become an activated member. Member Testimonials

“Our Sidney businesses have seen a significant increase in commercial activity during the past 18 months.  The awareness of Sidney within our local Peninsula community and Victoria as a whole seems to have grown with the marketing efforts of the SBIA.  Clearly, pooling our individual marketing resources and creating a “brand” has been more effective than any one singular effort.  Your focus on putting feet on our streets is having a significant effect on our downtown.  Keep it up and thanks for your hard work!”

“The Sidney BIA has been and continues to be a valuable asset to the Sidney small business community. They do a great job engaging business owners and with keeping members up to date on upcoming events and opportunities. I look forward to the future of Sidney’s small business community and working with the BIA!”

“The creation of the SBIA was exactly the organization needed to support businesses and attractions both individually and as a whole for the improvement of visitor activity and the financial well-being of the business community. The SBIA has achieved the goal longed for by Sidney Museum to bring merchants together to promote Sidney as a destination.”
